Australian champion makes impressive debut

Current Australian Leopard Heavy Champion, Matt Greenbury made a very impressive debut in a Kart Mini Smart at the final round of the Queensland Leopard Series at the Ipswich Kart Club.

Having his first ever race meeting in the kart after only one practice session he set the pace right from the start. Heat 1 saw him start from grid 9 and placed 3rd with the fastest time after the leaders had too much of a lead to catch up. Heat 2 he started from position 2 and cleared away to win by 50 meters. The Pre Final saw him start from pole and again took total control to win by the length of the straight. In the Final Matt started from Pole and was taken out on the first corner relegating him to 4th. When they went up the back straight for the first time he was still in 4th and 100 meters behind the leader. In an awesome display of driving he managed to take the lead with one lap to go but was punted off the track in turn one and had to settle for second.

After the final we found Matt had driven the Kart Mini 6 10ths faster than his nearest competitor in the final, confirming the dominance he displayed.

Matt said he has been looking for a kart like this all his career, it just keeps getting stronger and stronger.
