Our karting season has come to an end and after a very successful first year, MAX PAPIS RACING with FITTIPALDI, has finished, once again, at the top! Our star driver, Pietro Fittipaldi da Cruz won the last round of both the MiniMax and Easykart class in Homestead. What better way to end the season. Running in the MiniMax Rotax Championship and the Easykart Championship both locally in Florida and nationally, has been a great learning experience for our team and drivers. My nephew Pietro, had a great year and I was really proud of the progress he made in his driving and on a personal level. He was able to race in more than 25 races, winning 15 races and going on the podium 11 times. With all of this, he won the South Florida Easykart Championship, which allowed him to go to Italy for the world finals where he gained great experience running always at the top of the very competitive Easy 60 class. He finished 3rd place overall in the Florida Winter Tour in Ocala, 3rd place overall in the Grand National Easykart Championship in Tallahassee, and finished 3rd in the Rotax Regional Championship. Pietro’s brother, Enzo Fittipaldi da Cruz, also joined the team during the season. He had much fun racing in the Easy 50 class. He too, showed much determination and fearless driving, and we are looking forward to his continuous progress in the years to come. Our big adventure this year was going to Denver for the Rotax Series Nationals. It was a great experience and we paired Pietro with his good friend Jack West for that event. Both drivers did a great job and most importantly, learned a lot from that experience. Our crew chief, Helio Rodriguez, did an amazing job supporting Pietro and teaching him all the tricks to win races. He has been key in the organizational aspect of the team together with Fabio Orsolon, who was on driving duty with Skip Barber, as well as being a great teacher for Pietro and Enzo. I want to personally thank all of our sponsors because without your support none of this would have been possible. Arai Helmets protected us during our crazy days (and there were lots!). Alpinestars provided us with the best racing shoes and gloves in the business. My good friend Troy Lee set us up with some super cool team uniform. Safety Kleen kept our team immaculately clean and as environmentaly friendly as we can get! Mechanix Wear kept our crew safe and with style. Dragon Optical gave us the best shades in the business to protect us from the sunny days at the track. Beta Tools supported us with the best tools available, not to mention, the coolest to look at with all that orange! Alfano kept us ahead of the competition with data logging and information. MG Tires gave us the best tires to test and race. We enjoyed a lot of success from Kart Mini, the Brazilian chassis manufacturers in which Oswaldo Negri is a great representative. They supported us with great technical knowledge. Our engine tuner, Legree, gave us some of the best motors in the business. I would also like to personally thank Baterias Moura and Bringer Corporation for believing in Pietro and supporting him during these early stages of his career. Your support is invaluable and we are looking forward to working with you in supporting a Champion in the making! We are getting ready for the Florida Winter Tour which will begin in January and we will have more news coming both in the technical side of our team and the racing side.
